How to Manage Data in Writing IELTS

Data is important in building paragraphs for describing the visual information. Nevertheless, its function is only for supporting ‘the big picture’ of visual information. Test taker must be careful in inserting the data, especially if it is related to number. Sometimes, test taker does not pay enough attention then makes a simple but fatal error such as writing “480 people were failed to get the expected driving license in USA in 2009”, when he or she should write “480 thousand people were failed to get the expected driving license in USA in 2009”.

Cara Menyusun Jawaban "AC Writing Task 1"

Pada tes IELTS Writing Task 1 peserta akan diminta untuk melihat sebuah grafik, chart ataupun tabel dan menuliskan semua informasi yang terdapat didalamnya menjadi sebuah esai. Kenapa begitu? ya, dengan bertanya anda bisa mengetahui sesuatu yang belum anda tahu, atau menyempurnakan pengetahuan yang sudah anda dapatkan. Sama seperti ketika anda berencana mengikuti pelatihan IELTS. Hal pertama yang perlu anda ketahui adalah alasan kenapa anda memilih IELTS. Sesering mungkinlah bertanya kepada diri sendiri untuk mendapatkan clarity.

IELTS Writing Tips: Be Tricky to Pick a Word and Relax

It is better to write in regular, not very sophisticated English, than to use phrases or structures you don’t fully understand. If you need Band 6 – no need for complex sentence structure. If your goal is Band 7 – then show advanced sentence structure, language and vocabulary. Don’t write more than 260-265 words in IELTS Writing 2 task. Why? Not because you will get a lower mark, but because of these 2 reasons:

Are you a "beginner" in writing English text, but you need to take IELTS test ?
Here are some keywords and expression that can help your writing makes sense. Of course, you won't need to use all of the expressions on the IELTS. Ideally, you should be comfortable using at least three or four expressions from each group below.

IELTS Writing Test – Chart Types

A chart is a graphical representation of data, in which "the data is represented by symbols, such as bars in a bar chart, lines in a line chart, or slices in a pie chart". A chart can represent tabular numeric data, functions or some kinds of qualitative structures. 

Charts are often used to ease understanding of large quantities of data and the relationships between parts of the data. Charts can usually be read more quickly than the raw data that they are produced from.Certain types of charts are more useful for presenting a given data set than others. For example, data that presents percentages in different groups (such as "satisfied, not satisfied, unsure") are often displayed in a pie chart, but may be more easily understood when presented in a horizontal bar chart. On the other hand, data that represents numbers that change over a period of time (such as "annual revenue from 1990 to 2000") might be best shown as a line chart.

Karena sekali anda salah melakukannya – akan menjadi masalah bagi anda. Esai Sesuai Topik

Tahukah anda bahwa dalam IELTS nilai diperoleh dari menulis esai, surat, atau laporan yang sangat pendek? Panjang esai anda menunjukkan berapa nilai yang mungkin akan hilang dari tangan anda. Maksudnya begini: jika anda menulis 240 kata (ketimbang 250 kata seperti yang diminta untuk essai), anda akan kehilangan sedikit nilai ketimbang anda menulis hanya 200 kata.
