Frasa "Down the Pan"

Jika sesuatu hal menjadi  'down the pan' atau  'down the toilet' maka itu artinya hal tersebut tersia-siakan atau rusak.

Frasa "Up to Your Neck"

Jika anda dikatakan ‘up to your neck’ terhadap sesuatu, maka ini artinya anda sangat sibuk melakukan hal tersebut atau anda terlibat dengan sesuatu hal terlalu jauh.

Frasa "to Steal Someone's Thunder"

Jika anda dikatakan 'steal someone’s thunder', maka anda berarti telah mencuri perhatian orang-orang dari seseorang, biasanya ini digunakan untuk kepentingan anda sendiri.

Jika anda dikatakan “to carry a torch for someone” maka ini artinya anda jatuh cinta padanya.

Ketika sesuatu dikatakan “a shoo-in” maka ini artinya hal tersebut akan menang atau sukses.

Frasa "Hair-Raising"

Jika seseorang/sesuatu hal dikatakan 'hair-raising' maka artinya seseorang/sesuatu hal tersebut sangat menakutkan atau amat membuat gugup.

Reading IELTS: Fabulous Actions in Matching Headings and Paragraphs

In this kind of question, test taker has to match five until seven paragraphs with the headings. The number of headings is always more than the paragraphs. In above picture for example, test taker is able to see that there are ten headings listed as the answers for five paragraphs written under it.
